A short introduction to a family-run accommodation in three different houses in Seyðisfjörður

Undiraldan, a tiny private business, manages three lovely and distinctive spaces in Seyðisfjörður. Benedikta Svavarsdóttir is both a manager and an owner.

It started with Báran studio

In 2013 Benedikta and her boyfriend renovated a house by the sea named Báran, with the old scrapyard close by. The house needed a total makeover as it was in ruins.

In 2015 they opened their doors to travelers in a little studio in the house as the family resides in the other part. Since then two boys were born, they can be a little noisy but are getting bigger now, 5 and 8! The studio is perfect for a couple or friends.

Sæberg was being renovated

At the same time, 2015, a friend of Benedikta was renovating the little old school in the fjord (1922), which is called Sæberg. The house is a true gem that Undiraldan proudly keeps under her wing during the summer season. Sæberg accommodates up to 3 persons and is ideal for a couple.

We saw an opportunity with Steinholt

Finally, the most recent apartment is Steinholt, in the old music school. Again, it was a historic house that needed care and attention. Benedikta and her friend Zygmunt, a Polish carpenter, saw an opportunity in Covid times, purchased the house, and finished the renovation just in time for the summer season 2022.

Now Undiraldan has one lovely apartment in Steinholt open all year. The apartment is perfect for 2-5 persons.
